The Solution
The solution was a demand forecasting and lot-sizing application. When space was available on a print layout, the developed system would enable customer service representatives and production planners to determine which CD titles and quantities should be printed ahead to fulfill forecasted future customer orders. The program enabled customer service to utilize historical order information, setup and holding costs to determine a least-cost production lot-size for a given ordered selection.
